  • WALKING IN HOPE…A BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP

Each of us grieves the loss of a loved one in a different way; yet, many experiences are common to all.  St. Paschal and St. Clare wish to offer support to widows and widowers, parents who have lost a child or anyone who has lost a significant person in their life.  A six-week support group will be offered beginning on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.  We will meet in the St. Paschal Rectory Parlor from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in a relaxed atmosphere with guest speakers, support materials and refreshments.  Come join us and feel free to bring a friend or relative.  This support group is open to parishioners and non-parishioners.  There is no charge.  For more information, contact Barbara Curran at 440-840-5511, Corky Mondello at 440-449-3584 or the Saint Paschal Rectory at 440-442-3410.

  • Symbolon 2019

Ever hear of Symbolon?  In the early Church, Christians described their Creed, their
statement of faith, as the Symbolon, the seal or “symbol of the faith”.

If you have any questions or would like further information, call Rosalie Lewis @440-227-8718 or Barb Curran @ 440-840-5511.

  • SPIRITUAL FORMATION

Mary, the mother of Jesus, is one of the most familiar figures in our Catholic faith.  But how well do we know her, and how clearly do we see the connections between her life and our own?  Whether you have a deep devotion to Mary or wonder why people would even want to pray with her, we invite you to deepen your appreciation of our Blessed Mother and her role in our lives and the life of the Church. The Spiritual Formation Committee of St Clare and St Paschal Baylon will be offering the program At Prayer with Mary, beginning the week of September 30.  This seven-week program of Scripture, prayer, song and reflection is designed to help everyone – parishioners, family, friends and neighbors – grow closer to Mary, and through her, to Jesus. Each participant will receive a book which contains faith-sharing materials, consisting of prayer, scripture readings, reflections and faith sharing questions.  You are asked to contribute $9.00, which covers the cost of the book; funds are available to offset the cost, if needed.  Groups will meet once a week at different times during the day and in the evening, both at St. Clare and St. Paschal.  Become a better disciple of Jesus by following the example of the very first disciple, our Blessed Mother.  Click here for a registration card.

  • writer's fellowship

The Writer’s Fellowship brings together writers with a variety of strengths, skills, and needs in a supportive environment to encourage thoughtful, written expression. Through discussions and readings from the writings of Saint Peter Julian Eymard, Thomas Merton, Saint Augustine, and others, you will find inspiration and the means to express those ideas from the well-spring of fellowship with others. Saint Augustine wrote, “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” Through writing, we see what we believe.  We will consider 3 topics: Sanctuary. Silence. Prayer. Meetings will be held on Saturday mornings (October 5, 12, 19, 26 and November 2, 9) from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  An assignment will be emailed to you prior to the first meeting. You are asked to make 10 copies of your work to share with the group. Copies may be made at the parish office. We do not critique. Weekly written work of no more than a page or a page and a half on a topic and your point of view toward that topic will be the focus of each session.  Register your name and address at the parish office by September 23.
